From June 7-9, Binions Gambling Hall in downtown Las Vegas will play host to the Legends Classic Series (LCS), the nation's first televised senior poker tour. The tour will allow players 45 years of age and older, and will be sport a pro team consisting of some of the game's most accomplished seniors.

The Legends pro team includes four-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Tom McEvoy; 2004 WSOP stud bracelet winner Cyndy Violette; the personable Kenna James; 2005 WSOP runner-up Steve Danneman; 2006 World Poker Tour Legends Ladies Champion JJ Liu; two-time bracelet winner Hoyt Corkins; 2004 WSOP bracelet winner Kathy Liebert; and 2004 WSOP Main Event champ Greg Raymer.

The new mantra 45 is the new 50 will give the senior in waiting the opportunity they have been waiting for. By opening up our age range, we make the prize pools larger, the playing fields more dynamic and the opportunities to play in a completely comfortable field of their peers, said CEO Tina Bergstrom. LCS players will have a wide variety of game options from no limit hold'em to H.O.R.S.E. and bounty events."

Bergstrom continued: "I realize it's a bit unconventional to have a senior poker tour allowing the 45-49 year olds and call them seniors, but poker isn't a conventional game, so we wanted to shake it up a bit and the response has been amazing. We are bringing back the fun and entertaining characters everyone grew up watching on poker television.
