On Tuesday, December 10, the House Energy and Commerce��s Subcommittee of Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade will to discuss online gaming. According to the hearing notice:

The Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade will hold a hearing on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at 12:30 p.m. in 2123 Rayburn House Office Building, entitled ��The State of Online Gaming.�� The Subcommittee will examine the current regulatory landscape for online gaming after the Department of Justice��s reinterpretation of the Wire Act. The Subcommittee will review H.R. 2666, the ��Internet Poker Freedom Act.��

Witnesses for the hearing, which are by invitation only, have not been announced, though PocketFives has revealed that Poker Players Alliance Executive Director John Pappas will be in attendance.

��Unlike some past hearings to license online poker, this one will be hotly contested,�� PPA Vice President Rich Muny said via Facebook. ��Venetian Resort, Hotel & Casino parent Las Vegas Sands Corp. and its CEO, Sheldon Adelson, will be there in full force, opposing our right to play at every turn. So, needless to say, it��s time to act!��

The hearing webcast will be available at energycommerce.house.gov.
