Garden City Group Announces Payment Date for Balances of U.S. Full Tilt Poker Players
The deadline to submit petitions to recoup one's Full Tilt Poker balance was today, Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013. Poker players have had two months to file a claim to recoup the FTP balance that was frozen by the Department of Justice on April 15, 2011. The two-month window was set by claims administrator Garden City Group (GCG).
Players who did not file a petition by the deadline will not be able to claim their funds at a later date.
On Saturday, the GCG issued an update in regards to the repayment process via statement on their website, www.FullTiltPokerClaims.com. Here is what that update said:
"We are in the process of reviewing Petitions filed by Petitioners who confirmed their balances online and who have not disputed their FTP Account Balance or submitted multiple Petitions. We expect payments to be made with respect to such Petitions with confirmed balances by March 31, 2014."
The GCG was selected as the claims administrator by the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York to oversee the repayment of approximately $150 million that is owed to Full Tilt Poker players. Over the past two months, the group sent out more than 1.4 million email notifications to Full Tilt customers eligible for repayment. A spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney's Office told PokerNews on Friday that the GCG has received approximately 41,000 petitions for FTP repayment.
