The Gioco Digitale WPT National Campione, which featured a single reentry, attracted 488 entries and created a prize pool of 439,200. 1Francesco Del Foco90,000
2Matthew Fratello60,000
3Zdenko Li Vaja35,200
4Christophe Stammet25,024
5Andrea Ettori19,500
6Gert Zumkehr15,800

According to pokeritaliaweb.org, Gert Zumkehr was the first player to go from the final table of six. It happened in Level 28 (30,000/60,000/5,000) when Andrea Ettori opened for 140,000 from the small blind and Zumkehr shoved all in from the big for 305,000. Ettori made the call and the cards were turned up.

Zumkehr: A?5?
Ettori: K?6?

According to the PokerNews Odds Calculator, Zumkehr had a 59.90% chance of surviving the hand while Ettori would come from behind 39.65% of the time. The 5?8?K? flop was disaster for Zumkehr, who saw his chances drop to 20.20% after Ettori paired his king. The 7? turn knocked Zumkehr down even further to 11.36%, and that flatlined when the K? blanked on the river. Ettori improved to trip kings to send Zumkehr to the rail in sixth place for 15,800.

In Level 30 (50,000/100,000/10,000), Matthew Fratello opened for 200,000 from the button holding the 6?6? and called when Ettori shoved from the big blind with the Q?Q?. Ettori was primed for a double, but the K?4?6? flop gave Fratello a set and the lead. Neither the J? turn nor 9? river helped Ettori, and he was eliminated in fifth place for 19,500.

Two levels later, in Level 32 (70,000/140,000/20,000), Zdenko Li Vaja raised to 400,000 under the gun with the K?J?. Christophe Stammet then shoved from the big blind for 1.245 million with the A?2?, Li Vaja called, and the board ran out 6?4?K?2?9?. Li Vajas pair of kings was best, and Stammet took his leave in fourth place for 25,024.

One level later (Level 33: 100,000/200,000/20,000), Li Vaja joined Stammet on the rail. It happened when Fratello opened for 425,000 from the small blind with the Q?Q? and then called Li Vajas shove of 4.63 million from the big with the A?Q?. Li Vaja was looking for an ace, but he was left wanting as the board ran out a dry 2?10?2?8?8?.

The heads-up battle didnt last long. In Level 34 (120,000/240,000/20,000), Fratello got his shorter stack all in holding the A?9? and was dominated by the A?K? of Del Foco. The Q?8?7? flop was fairly dry, but the 8? turn presented some chop options. Unfortunately for Fratello, he came up empty handed as the 2? peeled off on the river. Fratello had to settled for 60,000 while Del Foco claimed the title.
