Ana Marquez Wins Hollywood Poker Open at M Casino for $320,000

The Hollywood Poker Open Championship Event at The M Resort Spa Casino in Las Vegas came to a close on Monday. The $2,500 buy-in event featured a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool and attracted many of poker's top talents to the South Las Vegas poker room. In the end, poker pro Ana Marquez emerged as the champion to collect the top prize of $320,189.

Marquez outlasted a field of 631 which generated a prize pool of $1,423,062. She was joined by an all-star cast at the final table, and eventually defeated Ryan Tepen heads-up for the title.

Marquez, who began the final day of the three-day event near the end of the pack, slowly climbed the leaderboard before reaching the final table and ultimately winning the first major live tournament of her career. On the final hand, her pocket jacks held up against Tepen’s ace-king after she spiked a jack on the flop for a set.

“I can’t believe I won. Everything was super perfect,” said Marquez. “We (the players) really liked the M. Everything was run very well. We hope they do more in the future.”
