This week, PokerNews became the official media partner for the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT), the exclusive poker tour of the Midwest. Founded by Bryan Mileski, the tour hosts a series of deep stack Texas holdem tournaments at separate locations throughout the region. Heading into its fourth season, the MSPT has plans for 15 events during 2013. That's an increase over the 10 events that were held last year in a very successful third season. The new season kicks off Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at Running Aces Harness Park in Columbus, Minnesota. The $1,100 Main Event kicks off Friday, Feb. 15 and boasts a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool. On top of the cash, the winner of each event will be awarded a customized diamond bracelet.

Other events for Season 4 have been planned at FireKeepers Casino in Battle Creek, Michigan, Ho-Chunk Casino in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, Downstream Casino Resort in Quapaw, Oklahoma, Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minnesota, Northern Lights Casino in Walker, Minnesota and Grand Falls Casino Resort in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

From the MSPT website, "Midwest poker players now have a poker tour to call their own. The MSPT serves these players proudly and adds new levels of intrigue and prestige to poker in the Midwest one of the most underrated poker hotbeds in the country."

"Here at PokerNews, we aim to connect the poker community and promote the positive advancement of the game worldwide. Mileski added, "We are very excited for the opportunity to partner with the worlds leading poker website. As the MSPT continues to expand quickly throughout the U.S., working with PokerNews definitely brings a level of prestige and national exposure that only the PokerNews brand can provide.
