The World Series of Poker Circuit from the Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma kicked off on Saturday with the Main Event. A large field was rumored, but even tournament officials were surprised at the whopping end result of 808 entrants. The top 81 places will be paid, with first place set at $232,706. After 16 levels of play, about 180 will return Sunday with hopes of reaching the final table. Unofficially, at the top of the counts is Lyle Glover with 256,400.

Glover got off to a great start on Day 1 and rode that momentum throughout the day to continually add to his stack. Glover hit six figures when his 4?4? help up against an opponent's Q?J? on a 4?6?K?10? board 4?6?K?10?. The river was a safe 3? for Glover, giving him a stack of about 150,000. Not long after that, Glover's A?A? held against K?10? on a king-high flop, pushing Glover's stack to greater than 200,000.

The most established player in the field, T.J. Cloutier, managed to survive Day 1 with a stack of 30,400. Unfortunately for T.J., on the second to last hand of the night at his table, he lost about 40,000 when his A?Q? failed to improve against an opponent's Q?Q?, but Cloutier will be back in action tomorrow. Joining him will be Daniel Aldridge (247,800), Richard Lee (220,100), Daniel Makowsky (155,600), Berry Johnston, (133,200), Brett Schwertley (37,900) and many others.

Among those that did not make it to Day 2 were Tom McEvoy, Chris Tryba, Kevin Calenzo, Allen Kessler, and Justin Allen. The Day 1 survivors will return to the felt at 12:00pm local time tomorrow. Be sure to join our Live Reporting Team for all the action!
