Looks like the hiatus from the 2010 World Series of Poker may have worked for PokerNews head honcho Tony G. He's back in the game, and we've got his latest blog, news about the UKIPT Edinburgh, and more to take you into your weekend.

Back in the Game

Over the summer, Tony G was in Las Vegas for the 2010 World Series of Poker. Because most players brave the desert heat for the full seven weeks, we never thought The G would be missing when the Main Event rolled around. But missing he was. He decided to forgo the Main Event and take a little poker vacation. It must have done him some good though, because our PokerNews boss is back and making moves.

In his latest blog, he talks about filming the Poker Lounge. A $20,000 six-max sit-n-go that he won for $120,000. He talks about his table draw that included Mike Matusow, Jennifer Harman, and Chris Ferguson. He also discusses his views on the World Poker Tour, and, of course, takes a shot or two at Phil Hellmuth.

UKIPT Edinburgh

The PokerStars UK & Ireland Poker Tour is headed to Scotland. CPT Revenues Up

HeadsUp Entertainment, the company that owns the Canadian Poker Tour (CPT) and Canadian Poker Player Magazine, has announced that its revenues have increased beyond company expectations.

The number of players who registered for the 2010 Stampede Classic Poker Tournament, which just ended, was 30 percent higher than anticipated. On top of that, the Canadian Open Poker Championships has secured several corporate sponsors.

The company will also be expanding into British Columbia and Manitoba and will announce details of new events in those regions soon.

ANZPT Queenstown

Of 119 players who took the felt for the PokerStars Australia New Zealand Poker Tour Queenstown Main Event, only 50 remained at the end of Day 2. When play ends on Day 3, that number will be down to 15 who will be in the money.

Although Julian Cohen's last hand of Day 2 was an impressive royal flush, he sits in second place with 116,000 on the chip leaderboard, behind Yannick Frenette who has 167,000. Lee Nelson is close behind with 115,600.
