2010 World Series of Poker: The Return of Jennifer "Jennicide" Leigh
When Day 1C of the World Series of Poker Main Event began, it was tough not to notice a very familiar blonde sitting at one of the tables. Jennifer "Jennicide" Leigh, who has been largely missing from the poker scene for the past two years, is returning to poker, and by the looks of her Day 1 stack of 85,425, she is looking to make a deep run in the 2010 WSOP.
One of online pokers first cult-like obsessions, Leigh burst onto the scene shortly after the poker boom was ignited in 2004 and was quickly playing the highest stakes limit-hold'em cash games on the Web. Although Leigh was not quite able to have a break-out performance on the live scene, her success reached its zenith in May 2008 when she appeared in Playboy Magazine. In an interview with PokerNews' Lynn Gilmartin, Leigh discusses how burnt out she got playing poker, and that, combined with she admitted was a terrible run online, compelled her to step away from the game that put her in the spotlight.
In early 2010 Jennicide reappeared on the radar and has been seen primarily playing tournaments on PokerStars, often tweeting and updating her Facebook page with news on deep runs and her daily grind. During the spring, she took down a PokerStars SCOOP event, winning Event #18 (low) and asserting herself again as a force to be reckoned with in online poker.
