The ¡°durrrr¡± Challenge: Three Days, Three Sessions 0001

For the third day in a row, Tom durrrr Dwan and Patrik Antonius put in a long session of the durrrr Challenge, leaving them with only a little over 11,000 hands to go in their 50,000-hand match. Although the session was marked with dozens of six-figure pots, two of them among the ten largest weve seen in the challenge, relatively few chips ended up changing hands, with Dwan booking a $33,868 win after 1,606 hands. He still has a stranglehold on the lead, up $1,844,430 total over Antonius, who needs to earn about 42 big blinds per 100 hands remaining in order to catch Dwan.

Antonius showed an increased desire to get his gamble on in their previous two sessions and that notion continued to ring true during yesterdays six and a half hour match. The four largest pots they played all unfolded in the last quarter of their session and they ended up splitting them 2-2, with Dwan taking down the monsterpotten of the session at over $367,000.

In the aforementioned pot, Antonius opened for a $1,200 raise, Dwan three-bet to $3,600 and Antonius called. Dwan checked the K?3?2? flop over to Antonius, who bet $6,000. Dwan raised to $19,800 and Antonius looked him up. The turn was the Q? and Dwan checked again. Antonius fired out $46,800 and Dwan shoved for $160,183, Antonius making the call. Dwan was well in the lead with K?K?10?2? for top set while Antonius showed Q?8?7?3? for two pair and a flush draw. The 10? on the river favored Dwan and he raked in the $367,165 pot, the fourth-largest ever played in the durrrr Challenge.

Near the tail end of the session, Antonius picked up a $317K pot of his own, which happened to be the sixth-largest ever played in the challenge. The Finn opened for $1,200, Dwan three-bet to $3,600, and Antonius made a small four-bet to $6,000. It wasnt enough for Dwan, who came back over the top for $18,000, earning a call from Antonius. The flop came down a relatively raggy J?5?2?, and Dwan checked over to Antonius, who made a pot-sized bet of $36,000. Dwan called. The turn came the 7? and Dwan decided to shove for his remaining $104,544. Antonius called, turning over A?6?5?3? for straight and flush draws while Dwan showed top pair with K?Q?J?10?. Antonius bonked a second pair on the river when the 6? fell, wresting away the $317,088 pot.

The final pot played on table durrrr Challenge 2 was the third-largest of the night, coming in at $261,000. The action was five-bet before the flop, the pot swelling to $64,800 before the first three came down J?5?2?. Antonius led out for a pot-sized bet, Dwan shoved for $98,543 and Antonius called, turning over a hand worthy of a five-bet-- A?A?4?3? for an overpair and a gutshot wheel draw. Dwans A?9?8?3? flopped well, however, giving him the nut flush draw and a gutshot straight flush draw. The Q? on the turn didnt help him, though. Neither did the 6? on the river, which gave Antonius the pot with a six-high straight.

If these two are back in action again today, well be there. Keep it here on PokerNews and stay tuned. An end to this match may just be in sight.
