Dates for the third annual World Series of Poker Europe presented by Betfair have been announced by Harrah's Entertainment. This year's series will run from September 17th through October 1st at the Casino at the Empire in London, and as was the case in 2008, will feature a total of four bracelet events.

"The World Series of Poker Europe has quickly established itself as the most prestigious tournament outside the United States," said World Series of Poker Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack. The staging of the WSOPE in September-October means that similar to last year, the World Series of Poker Europe series and Main Event will be taking place during the interval between the conclusion of play at the WSOP in Las Vegas in July and the completion of the WSOP's Main Event, or the "November Nine."

The 2009 World Series of Poker Europe series kicks off with a £1,000+60 No-Limit Hold'em event (Event No. 1), followed by a new addition, a £2,500+150 Pot-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha mixed event (Event No. 2). Next will be the £5,000+250 Pot-Limit Omaha event (Event No. 3), followed by the big one, the £10,000+350 World Championship No-Limit Hold'em event (Event No. 4). As in the past, all WSOPE events are designated as officially sanctioned gold bracelet events.

Pre-registration is open for players at any London Clubs International venue in the United Kingdom. Players at this summer's WSOP in Las Vegas can also preregister for WSOPE events at the tournament cage at the Rio Hotel and Casino. There will be some satellites in July at the Rio for the WSOPE Main Event as well. One can also qualify for the WSOPE via Betfair Poker.

ESPN will also be back this year at the WSOP Europe, with plans to air ten hours of coverage in the United States. Additionally, ESPN360 will be airing live coverage in the U.S., Europe, Mexico, and Brazil.
