Kathy Liebert Reps PokerStars at Final Table
PokerStars sponsored Kathy Liebert at the final table of the Event #1 of the World Series of Poker, the important to-be-televised new intro to the series. Liebert, who began the 2008 World Series of Poker in grand fashion with her showing, came back from being one of the shorter stacks entering the final to garner a solid third-place payday.
Liebert remains a force in tournament play, entering the 2008 WSOP as poker's all-time leading tournament money winner. Liebert's career earnings of well over $4 million will surge higher with her deep run in the PLHE championship, a huge jump for the player who honed her poker basics by playing $5 limit in Colorado casinos.
Liebert also has an open-event WSOP bracelet event to her credit, having captured the $1,500 Hold'em Shootout event in the 2004 World Series. That win was worh $110,180, but is far from the richest payday of Liebert's career. Liebert has one million-dollar payday to her credit (2002), and has garnered six-figure paydays on six other occasions, including $427,115 for her third-place showing in the 2005 WPT Borgata Poker Open.
Liebert, who goes by the nickname "Pokerkat," hopes the series will be the start of an incredible WSOP. The name is a tie-in to Kathy's popular website at pokerkat.com, where the former Dun & Bradstreet business analyst has her biography, gallery, contact information and much more.
