Yu Grinds Quietly
It's interesting to see a man like Winfred Yu play in a poker tournament. Yu doesn't say much, he smiles every now and always seems very polite when present at the table. There is however a lot more going on at all times on his phone, as Yu's known to host the biggest live cash game in the world.
Photos that Yu's posted on a Chinese social media platform similar to Facebook called weibo have gotten global attention as the stakes being played are inconceivable. Recently PokerNews' own Chad Holloway interviewed Tom Hall, a Macau regular, and he gave some very interesting insights into the world of high stakes poker in Asia.
So while most players are concerned with their tournament life here in Seoul, Yu might be more interested in when the next big game takes off after he gets back to Macau. As he's constantly on his phone we're assuming that there might be some text messages with the likes of Tom Dwan, Richard Yong and Paul Phua going around to see when the next multi-million dollar cash game will include some new challengers.
Currently Yu sits on around 22,000 chips and a phone filled with contacts that look to put the Global National Product (GDP) of a small country on the line in a cash game on a given night.
