Smith Scores Double Elimination to Bring Us to the Money Bubble

Three players saw a flop of {10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and soon thereafter two of them were all in and at risk against the third. The man with the most chips, Micah Smith, held the best hand and had both Dries Goyens and October Niner Greg Merson drawing for their tournament life.

Showdown
Merson: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Smith: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Goyens: {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

Smith held top set, Goyens an up-and-down straight-flush draw, and Merson two pair. The {A-Clubs} turn didn't change a thing, and neither did the {3-Hearts} river. Smith improved to a full house while sending two tough opponents to the rail.

"Maybe one day you'll get this live poker thing," Dan Smith told Merson on his way out after exchanging a friendly bumping of the nubs. Meanwhile, we're down to 22 players, which means it's time for hand-for-hand play.
