Former All-Time WSOP Circuit Ring Winner Falls

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

With six World Series of Poker Circuit rings, 27-year-old Alex Masek was the all-time ring winner, that is until Chris Reslock passed him last month as the first to seven. Both men were in today's field, but Masek has just fallen.

We caught him on the way out of the room and he explained what happened. According to him, Joe Tehan opened for 1,300 under the gun and he three-bet to 3,525 from middle position. Tehan called, the flop fell {K-}{2-}{2-} and Masek bet 3,700 after his opponent had checked. Tehan then woke up with a check-raise to 8,000, Masek called and the {9-Spades} turned. Tehan led out for 10,200 and then snap-called when Masek moved all in for 21,000.

Masek held {A-}{K-} for kings and deuces, but it was no good as Tehan revealed {Q-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. The river blanked and Masek was sent to the rail.
